How to Support the STEM Initiative

Supporting the Accounting STEM Initiative in Legislature

We are waiting for the bills to be reintroduced in the current session of Congress. (Last edited 03/07/2023)

As noted on the previous page, two identical bills have been introduced in support of the Accounting STEM initiative: the STEM Education in Accounting Act, S. 3398 in the Senate and the Accounting STEM Pursuit Act of 2021, H.R. 3855 in the House of Representatives.

Contacting your U.S. Senators and Congressional Representative to show your support for this legislation is one way to inform them of their constituents’ interests. At this point in the legislative process, we are asking them to support their appropriate chamber’s bill by becoming a bill cosponsor.

Please consider writing to your two U.S. Senators and Congressional Representative. The following information has been prepared to help you reach out. How to Write a Member of Congress:

Generally, if a Senator or Congressional Representative has a public e-mail address, it can be found on their website. Many offices provide a form for contacting your Senator or Representative on their website instead of an e-mail address. These forms may ask for personal information, typically to confirm that you are a constituent of their state or congressional district.
