Program Overview
The Accounting Scholarship Foundation of the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA) has established this scholarship to help students who are enrolled full time at an accredited four-year Connecticut college or university, who are a Junior or Senior by Fall 2024, and who have declared a major in Accounting.
The Accounting Scholarship Foundation will offer six scholarships of $5,000 each to selected recipient.
Review/Selection Process
All applicants must submit a completed application to the Accounting Scholarship Foundation by March 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Incomplete applications will not be accepted for review. A student may save the application and make changes up to March 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Once the applicant clicks the “submit application” button, no further changes can be made.
Applications will be reviewed by the Accounting Scholarship Foundation’s Trustees; winners will be notified by early May 2024. Applicants will be judged on factors including academic achievement, work, volunteer and leadership activities, the submitted essay, and overall presentation of self and demonstrated commitment to the accounting profession.
The scholarship will be paid via check payable directly to the selected recipient. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be invited to attend an awards ceremony in late May 2024 to be recognized for your achievement. More details to follow.
Requirements
All eligibility requirements must be met at time of application:
- Applicant must be a Connecticut resident or currently enrolled full time at an accredited four-year Connecticut college or university.
- Applicant must be a Junior or Senior by the Fall of 2024 and have declared a major in Accounting.
- Applicant must intend to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and pursue CPA licensure.
- Applicant must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) and an Accounting GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. with a Green Card.
- Applicant must be a CTCPA Student Member. Student membership is free. Join CTCPA at www.ctcpas.org/join.
