Program Overview
The 2021 Future CPA Career Exploration Summit has been postponed for a later date. The new date will be announced soon.
Our Summit is typically a regionally located in-person event offered to various minority serving institutions in a 3-4 hour radius of the host school, but this year the Summit will be offered virtually. It is being hosted by Kennesaw State University (whose campus is located at 1000 Chastian Road, Kennesaw, GA).
What to Expect
This is a free hybrid event for ethnic minority accounting undergraduate students who are interested in learning more about the many benefits of a career in the accounting profession. Attendees will participate in learning sessions and a panel discussion covering a wide array of topics aimed to strengthen students’ professional skills and understanding of the limitless possibilities and benefits of earning the CPA credential. Students will also have the opportunity to interact and engage with accomplished CPA professionals who will share priceless knowledge regarding career opportunities in accounting.The Summit will serve three objectives
- Encourage students to pursue CPA certification.
- To provide professional development and career readiness tips.
- To gain access to potential employers and professional networks.
Requirements
- Be a declared accounting major, or have interest in joining the accounting profession
- Be a college freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior
- Be actively involved in campus and community activities
- Be an ethnic minority (i.e., Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American; or Asian, etc.)
- Be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder)
