Program Overview

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK ACCOUNTANTS, INC. (NABA) RTP CHAPTER is proud to announce that the organization will award local scholarships for the current academic year. The application deadline is March. Scholarships will range from $250 to $1,250.

These scholarships will be presented at the Annual Scholarship Award Banquet to be held in April. The place and time will be provided to all scholarship recipients at a later date. The actual cash awards will be provided directly to the recipient, who must have at least one year of school remaining.

In accordance with National scholarship guidelines, monetary scholarship awards will only be provided to students that have at least one year of school remaining. Any CPA review scholarships provided will be the only scholarships that graduating students are eligible to receive (undergrad or grad). Eligible graduate students can not have held full-time employment without being enrolled in school or ever been a professional NABA member. Eligible graduate students must be those students who have continued from their undergraduate studies to the graduate level.

The NABA RTP Scholarship application should be submitted online. Completed scholarship applications include:

  • Current Resume
  • Essay Response - Describe how you plan to use your specific degree to assist NABA post-graduation to promote the Accounting/Business Profession? In describing your plan, be sure to include factors that helped to mold your career and NABA membership choices, and transition into a professional. Lastly, explain how you will give back to your local community. (350 words or less).*
  • Two Letters of Recommendation as completed by a faculty member and a paid NABA professional member who is a non-relative. Note: Students are to notify the faculty and professional NABA member who will be writing the recommendation letter. Please obtain the reference correct full name and email address.
  • Email or Mail a current, official Academic Transcript. You must request that your registrar send this to NABA directly via email (info@nabartp.org) or mail (PO Box 532 Morrisville, NC 27560) in a sealed envelope. We will not accept student copies or other unofficial transcripts. Most schools assess a nominal service charge to send official transcripts. If mailed, your transcript should also be postmarked by March.
